<div style='text-align:Left;font-size:12pt'><p><span>The 2026 Helping with Homestead Tour will be going to several Senior Centers and Venues around Lucas County to help citizens fill out Homestead applications between September and October 2026. This layer contains these locations with the event address, date and times included. </span></p><p><span /></p><p><span style='font-weight:bold;text-decoration:underline;'>Qualifications for Homestead:</span></p><p><span>You can qualify for Homestead if you are any of the following:</span></p><p><span>- 65 years or older</span></p><p><span>- Totally and Permanently Disabled</span></p><p><span>- The surviving spouse of a prior Homestead recipient and 59 years or older </span></p><p><span /></p><p><span style='font-weight:bold;'>AND</span></p><p><span /></p><p><span>- Your household (you + spouse) 2025 income was $41,000 or less (Social Security does not count towards this)</span></p><p><span /></p><p><span style='text-decoration:underline;'>There is no income maximum if you are:</span></p><p><span>- A disabled veteran who is rated or compensated at 100%</span></p><p><span>- The surviving spouse of a first responder who died in the line of duty</span></p><p><span>- An Ohio Homestead recipient prior to 2014</span></p><p><span /></p><p><span style='font-weight:bold;text-decoration:underline;'>Extra Savings for Seniors:</span></p><p><span>Thanks to the passage of bipartisan Ohio House Bill 479, 2026 Homestead recipients will receive an extra discount on their </span><span style='font-weight:bold;'>January 2027 </span><span>property tax bill. </span></p><p><span /></p><p><span>If you are approved for the 2026 Homestead Exemption, you will receive a bonus property tax discount next year. The amount of this bonus is estimated at approximately $450 off the January 2027 property tax bill (the exact amount may very with final calculations by the State of Ohio). </span></p><p><span /></p><p><span>If you are already receiving the Homestead discount, you do not need to apply for this discount. You will receive this automatically in addition to the normal savings on your 2027 tax bill. </span></p><p><span /></p><p><span>Citizens must apply by October 30, 2026 to receive this discount on your January 2027 property tax bill.</span></p></div> |
